The City of Cardiff Lodge meet every Monday at 19:30 at Roath Conservative Club, 7 Cyril Crescent, Roath, Cardiff, CF24 1DQ.
It does not seem that long since a handful of us went in to what was at that time a derelict store room in the Roath Conservative Club. The room had been secured for us by Bro Ron(Biggles) Old ROH who was bubbling with enthusiasm not shared by the rest of us as to the potential of the accommodation on offer.
Our worries were soon over when the task of transforming the room was taken on by a few stalwarts like Bro Stuart Brooks, Nicky Koefed, Jack Tarr and Colin Young. They turned it into a Lodge Room to be proud of and where we could hang our memorabilia which helps us remember Brothers like Theo Lambros, Ron Old, Brian Jenkins and the like.
We like many other lodges suffer like most from bad attendance, and long to get back to where we had 20 + in Lodge, and some good Lodge Nights.
We are more than proud of our Anniversary Dinners they have proved to be a great success and are a credit to Bro Colin Young who masterminds them and of course the elected Dinner Committee.
The 2002 dinner was held on Saturday 14 October attended by over a hundred buffs, wifes and friends, along with some Grand Lodge officers. There was an excellant dinner plus a singer and comedian and its fair to say that a good night was had by all and it carried on until the small hours of Sunday morning and also raised a sum of money for the charity appeal, which added to the occasion.
The 2003 Dinner will be held on Sat 13th of September in the Roath Conservative Club, more detail will be published when known. We will try as allways to make this Dinner better than any before.
We recently paid a long overdue Regalia Visit on the 21st of July we did a visit to the Triddwr Lodge in the Caerphilly Province to witness a Second Degree Ceremony performed by the Grand Primo Bro Barrie Kingston ROH.
We accompanied our PGP and had a great time and were very warmly welcomed and we proved to ourselves that there are no feirce dogs patrolling the borders of our Province.
If you are in the area why not come and visit us you are assured of a Hearty & Convivial Welcome any time you do not have to make a reservation.
We'll Be Back.
